Dublin Castle
Dublin castle has been a part of Ireland’s history for a very long time and is still used today for various activities and ceremonies. The gardens associated with the castle are open for public use and many locals enjoy reading on the benches or sitting in one of the corner areas to take advantage of the quiet space without leaving the city.
The garden is organized as a space to support local wildlife. There are many pollinator plants that are also common in California such as various colors of salvia and hydrangea.
There is a large open space in the center of the garden, but it’s not for public use. I would imagine it’s difficult to maintain if people are allowed to picnic and play on it.
Dublin castle’s gardens are also home to a commemorative space in honor of people who died in service to their country.
